There are so many distractions – including all the debates – that we forget that we are supposed to be a ‘mission’ church.

You know, like on EWTN, their favorite hot button is abortion. Everything is eventually linked back to the topic of abortion.

I got nowhere arguing with Mother Angelica over the phone on her ‘live’ program. I was trying to make the point that evangelization was the key to helping people overcome all their sins, including abortion.

Anytime you try to do something about the abortion problem, you have to drag in some evangelization and catechesis. Otherwise, the conversation is just one person’s opinion versus another’s.

I had 12 years of Catholic school decades ago, and there was no discussion of evangelization. We were barely evangelized ourselves. Now, oh, it’s different. We’re all supposed to be evangelists.

I feel so called to evangelize. Going through RCIA made me want to bring the information I was learning to others. I was never explicitly told I should do this, or even how I should go about it, but I definetly feel a call to do it. like Crumpy said, abortion is a big issue and everyone seems to relate that to the CC. I wish we would be known for preaching the word of God along with fighting to end abortion. But as always the CC is always a good front page story when there’s a scandal involved. It seems like bad press is the only kind the CC gets.
