In a sense she already did, by her participation in bearing Jesus, bringing His redemption into the world. Jesus gave us the Holy Spirit and abundant graces to help us overcome evil. Jesus triumphed over sin and death and the faithful will triumph as well.

Thus the head of Satan has been and is being crushed by the triumph of Mary’s son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We can say that Mary crushed th head of Satan by bringing this about through her participation in bringing the Savior into the world.

She continues her participation in redemption and the conquering of evil through her unending intercession. Her “yes” was the beginning of the end for Satan.
