I don’t know what he means. He might mean a number of things, and to know for sure, we should try again to contact Bob Tebow’s organization.

I’ve had Catholic friends since early on in my life as a Christian, and I’ve read many Catholic authors for a long time. However, I’ve also known Catholics that went to Catholic schools that were so poorly catechized, that they truly had no understanding of the gospel. It would be fair to say they had never heard it, though I know Bible reading is done in every Mass. It baffled me that they could be there at Mass every week and still have no clue what they were doing there.
You might want to read Johathan Edwards “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God” and wonder if these guys are saved why is his preaching so harsh?

CopticChristian—

I don’t understand the connection between the post from me that you quoted and your comment about Edwards’ sermon.

If I recall correctly, the idea behind the sermon was to shake up those who are mere cultural Christians, who had actually clearly heard the gospel but deliberately ignored it.

I believe Edwards was a Calvinist.

Abide,

People are people. Some listen. Some don’t. Some get the messge. Some don’t. Bart Brewer was a Catholic Priest. He used to live in San Diego. I had occasion to meet him. I have letters about his service in the military, his dismissal, and other pertinent letters concerning his carreer. For the life of me I cannot recall how I got them. As I type I cannot recall where I put them. It was to say the least a memorable experience. He started “Mission to Catholics” and it was said that if you had a rosary and presented it to him he would grab it and promptly crush it and step on it. He was given the message, practiced the message, said Mass every week and still had no clue what he was doing there. What else is new?

Hi CopticChristian—

I just saw this thread, but I’m going to sleep soon. I’ll be gone all day tomorrow.

I’m not a Calvinist. Maybe someone else here would like to take up the discussion?
