I’ve been teaching here in Macau for more than a year. Macau is known for its casinos and I think that most of the people here have accepted gambling as a way of life or “the” source of livelihood.
I also notice the negative effect of this culture on the world view of my students who have been raised in a pagan environment.
How could I help people around me realize the bigger picture in life – that money and pleasure are not everything – and introduce them to the Catholic faith? And what about gambling or gaming (as some people call it) and its morality?
I surely want to help my students, colleagues and acquaintances discover the beauty of the Catholic faith. But it’s definitely an uphill climb here in Macau. I need your suggestions and prayers.
