Are any of you here at CAF part of the Cursillo movement in your diocese?

What is it all about?

I am a 4th Dayer. This means I have been on my Cursillo weekend. It is an opportunity to remove yourself from the world around you, explore your relationship with God and His Church. There are prepared talks, actvities, prepared by a team. It is an all male or all female event.

Most importantly it is an experience so it would be unfair for me or anyone else to relate because what we need and what we get may be different. Mine was a truly memorable and positive experience…if you feel a tug to stretch yourself out a bit…go for it!

Thanks. My Church is having the 3 day weekend event / retreat / whatever in Feb., one for men then next weekend the one for women. My wife and I are having a hard time getting into any sort of group in our church outside the mass. DW thought this might be something to look at. We’re planning on attending but I’m not sure what the deal is. If I have to just wait and see that’s fine. I see that the Cursillo have weekly meetings, which is something we both want and hoping it’s like a fellowship, prayer thing.

A 4th dayer is someone who has graduated from the 3-day experience. You will find opportunities for getting involved in small support groups when you are a 4th dayer. Mine was a diocesan group so there were other parishes involved, so depending on your particular experience you may make some very strong relationships with people from other parishes as well. I think it is a great way to get involved in a very meaingful way with others who share your faith.

I hope if you decide to do it your experience was as special as mine… Des Colores! in advance 🙂
