Do you think the Episcopal bishop of Washington has a point?

Not much of a point.

Whether the Nigerian has done enough about AIDS or not, homosexual acts are still incompatible with Christian morality. The Episcopal communion in the U.S.corrupted that morality by installing an actively homosexual bishop.

Pointing out another’s failings(whether real or imaginary) does not change that at all.

No, he doesn’t have a point, because he has not shown that Akinola falls short in these ways. This line is standard among liberal Episcopalians, and I have yet to see it supported by a shred of evidence.

Someone needs to assess just what the Anglican Church of Nigeria is or is not doing in these areas. But one would think that given how often Episcopalians have made this charge, they would have been able to compile some sort of evidence to back it up.

It’s the same with the claim that there are polygamous African bishops. This is another standard line, but I have yet to year a single name and diocese specified. The closest you get is second- or third-hand reports that polygamous bishops were seen at Lambeth 1998.

Yes he has a point. But he wears his hair so well it hardly shows.
