I would like to know what everyone thinks the best Daily Missal is. Also, I would prefer one that includes Sundays and weekdays.

You can go one of two ways: disposable or permanent. The Magnificat is a monthly publication that has the readings for both daily Mass and Sunday. It also has morning and evening prayer as well as daily reflections and some good spiritual writings. It also has hymns for both morning and evening prayer. It will run you about $6 a month.

I own the Daily Roman Missal by Scepter Press. It has all of the readings for the entire liturgical year, including the three-year Sunday Cycles and the two-year daily Mass cycles. It also has the prayers and propers in Latin. There are also devotional prayers, including the Angelus and other prayers. It also has the prayers and propers for the solemnities and feasts of the saints throughout the year.

This is about $89. However, you may want to wait until about 2011 when the new translations come out as this will be a pricey, but good, investment. The book that I have now will be obsolete by then.

My favorite is Living With Christ. livingwithchrist.us/ A year’s subscription is $22, which is less than $2/month. Theres are some reflections plus the readings, etc for daily Mass and Sunday Mass. It comes in the mail every month, is about 5x7 and slips nicely into my purse. If it is the feast day of a Saint, there is usually a little biographical information included.

I tried switching over to Magnificat this summer when my LWC subscription ran out. Within the month, though, I had renewed my LWC subscription for 3years . I think it’s all a matter of what you get used to.
