Hello everyone,

I am after some inspiration when it comes to daily prayer books and was wondering whether and what you may be picking up on a daily basis?

At the moment I am using the “Handbook of prayers” published by the Midwest Theological Forum / Catholic Truth Society.

I am on the market for something more devotional / novena but similarly as extensive.

Would love to read what you are picking up regularly.

Thanks,
🌷

The Raccolta, a big prayer book, has a number of chaplets and prayers embraced (indulgenced) by the Magisterium in the past. It is found online if you want to read it before buying it. But one should note the indulgences are no longer binding to operation for cleansing souls. A similar smaller book came out after Vatican II, The Handbook of Indulgences (Enchiridion of Indulgences). This has indulgences that can be of use.

Thank you so much for your response, I will look these both up now. 🌷

I also use the Manual! I also highly, highly recommend the “Publican’s Prayerbook” put out by Sophia Press. It’s from the Melkite Rite, nearly identical to Eastern Orthodox devotionals, but with prayers for the Pope. Plus, commentary from the Fathers on various topics, Morning and Evening Prayer, prayers to Jesus and Mary, and tons more!

The Latin and Byzantine Rites are my loves.

Thank you all!

I have added Catholic Prayers: Compiled from Traditional Sources and In Conversation with God to my next purchasing list.
