Hi,

I’m new to the forums – if this has already been asked and answered, I apologize.

If I do the daily readings (weekday as well as Sunday,) will I ultimately read the entire Bible? How long would that take?

Thanks

In the Lectionary of the Missal of Pope Paul VI, 71.5% of the New Testament and 13.5% of the Old Testament is covered in the Sunday and Weekday Readings. For Sundays and Major Feasts it would just be 40.8% and 3.7%.

Note that since the Sunday readings are divided into Year A,B and C and the Weekday readings into Year I and II, it would take 3 years to hit these percentages.

Readings Sacred Scripture on your own everyday… you may finish faster. 😉
