I’ve been saying a rosary every day for a while now, but earlier this year, starting in January, I underwent a period when it was more difficult for me to concentrate without praying and there were some days, especially in February, where I wasn’t able to finish the whole rosary by midnight, but I finished them shortly thereafter. There was also a night a few days ago when i tried my hand at a 15 decade rosary and only made it halfway through by midnight. All these times though i had a firm intention to finish before midnight, even though I didn’t make it. So what I am asking is am I still faithful to my devotion or did i bungle the daily part of it?

I personally feel that as long as you begin before midnight, it counts for the day it was begun. Time is such a relative thing. You can live feet from the border of where a time zone changes, and have it be 10 PM at your house, and 11 PM at your neighbor’s house a three minute walk away. How about an instance of where a time zone runs through a person’s house. Daylight Saving Time is another good example of how we mess around with time. Does anybody really know what time it is?

Just do your best. I try to say at least 1 rosary a day but sometimes I miss a day or more than one day. I try to make them up. Also I am almost always saying other prayers on the day I miss so it’s not like the day passes with me ignoring God. Some days I just have trouble keeping up with all my prayers, or I get ill, or I fall asleep. While I do try to get them all done, I think God and Mother Mary are understanding when we in our human weakness don’t manage to finish. After all, the Apostles always seemed to be dozing off too.

We’re like toddlers learning to walk. We waddle around and fall down all the time. If you miss a day, it’s fine. Just get back to it the next day. It’s not at all like missing a day of obligation.

I am so glad to hear these responses.
I started saying the rosary daily for lent & plan to keep it up after.
I say 6 decades, because I feel I goof up on a few Hail Mary’s.
