Yes, I have tuned into Dancing with the Stars for weeks now. It has been my guilty pleasure. Ballroom dancing usually embodies grace and talent and there was a lot of good sportsmanship in this show.

So, imagine my frustration when the one couple who won were the ones with the least amount of clothes on (the woman at least) and the most “suggestive” dance moves. Maybe I am taking the whole thing too seriously. Maybe I just wanted the Fred and Ginger of the show to win. :yup:

Am I reading too much into this? Have you seen the show? What are your thoughts?

I liked the couple who won…but John and Charolette should have won…it was the audience voting that put it over the edge…

Still a good show…should help the ballroom dancing lessons around the country 😉

I thought John & Charolette were MUCH better dancers…more graceful & classy too - but I didn’t vote so I guess that doesn’t give me the right to complain.

Their mistake was allowing America to vote. The kids probably voted for the soap star, who did get better as they went along, but John O’Hurley and Charlotta Jorgensen were clearly the better dancers.

I wished John and Charlotte would have won. All their moves just flowed evenly. The other couple did try some harder moves but the were jerky and not as professional looking.

hmmm…I actually missed the last show…I always loved the couples who the judged hated and hated the couples who the judges loved…so what do I know?🙂

John and Charlotta embodied Ballroom Dancing and should have won on execution and presentation.

ABC is the home of General Hospital and Kelly Monaco has a hugh fan base which knows how to coordinate and execute internet and snail mail campaigns at the drop of a pin.

I really like Kelly from her Port Charles days and she really was such a great competitor and showed huge improvement so I’m glad she was in the final round, but that final dance had execution mistakes in it so there’s no way they should have received ONE ten score, let alone THREE!

I’m also leery about the obvious absence of any numbers substantiating the eliminations along the way. We never got to see how much of the popular vote any one couple received.

All in all, though, I’m glad ABC supported the idea.
It was fun to watch.
Good lessons were learned about sportsmanship.
And if it spurs renewed interest in ballroom dancing that’s a real plus because it’s so graceful, polite, and fun…we can learn so much for our health and for our relationships by bringing social dance back to the forefront instead of the hip-hop bare-it-all bump-and-grind stuff considered popular now.

Dancing with the Stars was a joke!

John and Charlotta were absolutely amazing. The only reason why John didn’t win is because he wasn’t a scantily clad woman that had “wardrobe malfunctions.”

Every dancing couple, apart from Evander Holyfield, was better than Kelly Monaco. My bride and I were soooo upset last night:mad:

With the 3 10’s they received, Kelly Monaco was beating John by 1 point *before *the audience poll.

John was too cocky and didn’t diserve to win. He was too smug, though they were the classer couple. Kelly was kind in taking all the abuse from the judges and was so thankful to win after working so hard. I like that she won.

I understand that but with the votes going in and there had to be more than just 1 separating them…audience poll had to make the diff. I don’t begrudge the winners…but seems to me 3 10’s come on…
by the way…did you vote? I never got a vote in …tried to by phone but it never went through…

I enjoyed this program…I preferred John and Charlotte but the others were good as well…hope they do it again.

I felt kind of silly watching - but I did enjoy this show! Even my hubby was addicted - you won’t tell anyone will you?

Loved John and Charlotta - very classy! The others looked soooo trashy!

I knew something was off!

A “Dancing” Rematch?

Kelly Monaco is confident in her moves.

The General**Hospital star says she’s aware of the controversy surrounding her underdog victory over fan favorite John O’Hurley on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars, but she’s not fazed by it.

“I do not hold anything personally. I’m not going to go home and cry because someone did not like my dancing,” Monaco told the Television Critics Association on Tuesday.

“If you don’t like it, you don’t like it. I wouldn’t be sitting here if the whole world hated what I did.”

Meanwhile, O’Hurley fans who are convinced that the Seinfeld star was robbed in the Dancing finale may get another chance to watch the actor shake his hips.

After 22 million viewers tuned in to watch Monaco and O’Hurley go head to head on the dance floor, ABC is considering reuniting the finalists for a rematch when Dancing returns to the airwaves, most likely in January.
