Was reading the morning prayers of the LOTH and was curious if this was evidence that Daniel and David did pray to angels. Reading Daniel 3:58 in context, he talks about dew and rain , frost and chill and it is not possible to pray to these (objects) or for these (objects) to worship God. Although i have seen explanations in iconography that allude to " all creation worships him".

Daniel 3:58 All you angels of the Lord, bless the Lord: praise and exalt him above all for ever.

Daniel 3:86 All you spirits and souls of the just, bless the Lord: praise and exalt him above all for ever

Psalm 148:2 Praise ye him, all his angels: praise ye him, all his hosts.

All creation manifests the glory of God but I personally would not use this as a proof of prayer to angels. It is true that people in this time didn’t tend to see objects(like the sea) as purely impersonal though

Just as we give glory to God when we do what He created us to do, so does all of creation - animate or inanimate - give glory to God when it does what He created it to do.

What do you mean by “pray to angels”? Do you mean ask for the intercession of angels?

I’m not understanding what your question is.

Regarding the rest of Daniel’s prayer, all creation gives glory to God simply by its existence.
A few forms of creation, such as humans and angels, can also give glory to God sentiently.

Whether the sacred authors actually addressed the angels and the souls of the just or they were simply exercising poetic license, I don’t know but I think it does show that, morally-speaking, there is nothing inherently wrong with prayerfully addressing the angels or the souls of the just.

P.S.: In Psalm 103:20, the psalmist also directly addresses the angels:
Bless the Lord, O you his angels,
you mighty ones who do his word,
hearkening to the voice of his word!

yes that is right, i was asking in the context of intercession of angels. I did like to get all my bible knowledge in to further spread the faith amongst protestants.

That’s an exhortation not prayer.
I could exhort my guardian angel to intercede for me. I could exhort my guardian angel to protect me as I go outside. I could exhort my guardian angel to rejoice over a favor granted. This would be prayer, because prayer is the method of communication with those in Heaven. @Tis_Bearself prayer = communication.

None of those things happens in Scripture or in the passage mentioned.

The Psalm also has animals treated the same way.
