Daniel, The Anti-Christ, and all that

Many of those who point to the Catholic Church cite Daniel as one of their “sources.” I am very familiar with rebutting arguments against the Catholic Chruch when the argument is based on the book of Revelation; however, Daniel is sketchy for me. I’ve read it, but what do I say to these people? They come out with the “sign of the beast” and there is going to be “one world government” etc etc…and there will be a secretly “evil take over” shrowed in the guise of a peace seeking organization (they say the Catholic Church is this organization) I’m sorry…but after reading Daniel I just didn’t come away with this interpatation at all. I don’t really even see where they’re coming from. I mean I read it in context of the Old Testament. Please someone help me out here.

I am currently reading Rapture The End-Times Error That Leaves the Bible Behind by David D. Currie.

This is a wonderful book and explains the difficult parts of Daniel. I am sure there are many other books out there as well that will be very helpful. this is one I find to be pretty good.
