Many thanks for those words of wisdom Emily. I wish I had been as self-aware and wise as you when I was your age. (-: We are still just having a quick peck on the cheeks or lips on meeting and leaving (even though sometimes I’m dying to do more!!) so it’s so lovely to know that there is no pressure from his side. That is a huge relief. We still haven’t discussed it (I’m not sure how normal that is!?!) but I’m alot clearer now on what’s ok or not. I find it very helpful to do as James prayer suggests i.e. offer all my actions up for the love of Christ (and I also include thoughts in it!!) This always brings me back to Him. And I also thank Him for showing me how I have sinned in the past and for having brought me to this state of grace. I am very blessed.

This is the reason that it is prudent to ONLY think about marriage with a fellow Catholic, a fellow practicing Catholic. Don’t date those who will not make a good mate.
But don’t you need to date so you can decide IF they’re a good mate since dating is the “truly getting to know you” stage??

I think there’s absolutely nothing wrong with dating someone and not marrying them in the end. If I did it your way I would’ve already gone through at least 20 divorces.
