Anyone would like to debate this?
Its an excellent speech for young and old who are interested in dating, courtship and marriage and the perversion of porn and the falling-in-love illusions plus other recipes for disaster. Can be heard in parts or all of it at once. I wish I had heard this years ago.

The man is a baptist, but I can’t help thinking he is very Catholic in his thinking and he says things much more plainly and clearly than many Catholics are able to. I think his wife is extremely blessed to have a godly husband like that.
If many Catholics have a flaw its thinking they have to study “theology of the Body” for 2-3 years at a higher institution in order to explain the concepts of a worthy sexuality to people, whereas a person like Paul Washer, using the Bible and a common language gets the same message across so well.

We can learn alot from him. I hope that if I ever marry a man he will have watched this and said Amen to this part about courtship ( starts at 0.39 minute, here the part about dating and courtship begins)

Opinions people? 🙂 I am very amazed and positively stirred up.

If someone gains wisdom through this sermon, more power to them. As expected, he uses sola scriptura reasoning, which does not present as complete a picture as the Church does.

Thats just what I found fascinating. Precisely by Scripture alone he had attained such fantastic wisdom. He had really used Scripture well. I feel that though we as Catholics have so many resources, you would be hard pressed to find any Catholic who covers with so much wisdom the principles of chastity and marital love as this man does. I mean, yes there are some… but often they have a world of concepts from extra biblical sources which their audiences have never studied, and they get lost in intellectual thinking and turn into a small elite that fail to convey their thoughts to others.

There is tremendous power in the inspired word of God.
He doesn’t talk about contraception, but except for that he covers so many things. As I said, blessed the woman who is his wife.

You say the Church presents a complete picture… but how many can grasp that complete picture? I would say that Paul Washer has grasped and seems to actualize close to the limit of what you can demand of anyone in this area.
Does having a lot of extra sources serve us, if we don’t even know how to use the most basic ones in an exhaustive way?
Maybe having a mountain of books in front of us, a load of commentaries etc, will not help us get started on the path of virtue and wisdom, but studying the Bible seriously will.
What I mean is… people are overwhelmed. I like this approach of Washer… it reminded me of CS Lewis. Even an idiot can understand it… and get inspired by it and want to actualize it in their own lives after listening.

I would say that this abundance of thought and resources is what separates Catholics from other Christians and helps the religion progress in theological refinement and thought.

One can grasp what the Church teaches! The instruction is not always perfect, but the underlying message is still capable of being understood.

As I said, if the simplicity of the presentation and message works for you, great.
