Hi, this is my very first post to this forum and I just wanted to ask everyones advice on something I have been thinking about for a while now. So basically, I am 19, in online college furthering my 3D art skills to be an FX artist for film, and working while in school. I will be graduating in July of this year and I hope to land an industry job by the end of the year. By landing a job, I will be having to move out of Alabama (maybe even to another country).

So my question is that I want to join the youth group at my church because I would love to have some more friends to hang out with that are Catholic and it would be great to meet a good Catholic girl to get to know, you know what I mean? My delima, is that I am thinking ahead and seeing that what may happen is that I meet someone and then we may or may not become close, but then I know I am moving to another state/country within, say, 6 months. The thing is, I don’t know if it would be fair to possibly get to know someone and start a bond so to speak and then have to move away for 1 to 5 years (not knowing where I may be steadily). Granted I do understand that there are soldiers that leave to serve our Country and don’t know when they will be back and such, but I feel like that may be different. So what do I do about that? Hope I elaborated enough. Thanks.

Nothing wrong with hanging out with other people your age. If you are planning to move away soon I am not sure rushing into a dating relationship is the best idea. Maybe just try to form some strong friendships with both sexes and maybe over time you can think about dating one of them if the relationship continues. You are only 19 and you don’t need to find your future wife yet. I would just focus on finishing your education and your job and having good friendships.

It doesn’t hurt to form some friendships now and joining a youth group would be a great idea to meet like minded individuals. Your 19 your still young enjoy life don’t rush into anything to serious it’s time to enjoy life there’s time for dating and relationships later

Thanks guys. I’m definitely not trying to rush anything by any means…Hope it didn’t come off that way. Just wanted to get some opinions about it. Thanks for the advice!
