I just watched the trailer. You know, I really don’t see this making money. Everybody knows the ending, even people who haven’t read the book. If they make it exactly like the book, people will be bored. If they deviate from the book, people will be outraged. This isn’t LoTR, the surprise ending is key.

Yours in Christ,

That’s an odd assumption. It’s predicting no one will watch Harry Potter because they know what will happen.

For those interested (or not), here’s a brand new trailer for The DuhVinci Code:

Sadly, sadly, the trailer will not play for me.

For Urf, I’d have to say I find Harry Potter books to be far better pieces of literature, with better stories, than The Da Vinci Code. It seems that the latter was rather dependent on the surprise ending. That said, I think it will probably do well at the box office. It’s apparently got some pretty big starpower. In fact, were it not for the fact that it’s the bleepin’ Da Vinci Code, I’d be tempted to see it. What the heck were all these people thinking? Oh, wait. They’re Hollywood people. Their thinking processes are completely different from ours.

Who knows? Maybe the movie will be better than the book.
