Why do we need it to be full daylight so early in the morning? Doesn’t it benefit us more to have the light later in the evening?

for me, it’s dark going to work and when it ends. The hour shift doesn’t matter for most of the winter

You would think so, right?

I wish that we would do away with changing the clocks, once and for all…

That’s just my opinion. 🙂

I agree. Personally it is more beneficial to me to have it light in the morning so I’d want to have it left on “standard time”. As a compromise I’d be fine with moving the clock 30 minutes ahead and never touching it again.

A bit of sunlight helps keep me awake in the morning when I don’t want to get up.

@ATraveller

Yeah, but I work second shift. I don’t like seeing the light early in the morning.

Huge dislike of Daylight saving,
But also can depend on what latitude you are on the planet

i didn’t read the linked articles in this thread but i had heard that after the initial world war energy savings goal the earlier daylight was kept so kids walking to school didn’t have to do it in the dark.

old tale? maybe

When we turn our clocks back to Standard Time, it will get dark even earlier. But what we may not realize is that this also means that more children will be traveling to and from school in the dark, which puts them at greater risk of injuries from traffic crashes.
According to the State of South Carolina returning to standard time increases risk traveling to and from school.

Here you go Robert,too warm here already …I could do with a bit less sun

That might go terrible in places further north. Even in some parts of the US (not including Alaska) the sun will rise at 9:00 AM.
