The daytime soap opera has been an endangered species in the United States in recent years. This news does not make me feel good.
Me, me! I’ve been with this show for over 30 years and have accepted that I’ll be with it until it dies. It’s fabulously ridiculous escapism.Really? Is there anyone still watching those shows?
My mom has been watching the show ever since it first aired back in 1965. It’s too hard for her to quit now.Really? Is there anyone still watching those shows?
And the hair … my god, the hair …It’s kind of counter-intuitive, but my exposure to Days of Our Lives as a child very much reinforced for me Christian morality and the natural law. Even at the times in my life where I wasn’t sure about Catholicism, I never doubted Catholic teaching on hot button moral issues. One of the reasons is because, on Days of Our Lives, I witnessed how messed up people’s lives got when they contravened the moral law. After watching it, I couldn’t imagine how people doubted that “no sex outside of marriage” was best for everyone.
