Around here it varies from parish to parish whether the deacons wear dalmatics; I think it’s suggested but not pushed. At the Cathedral they usually do. At my parish (which is in many ways the most traditional parish around, aside from the FSSP chaplaincy) our deacon rarely wears a dalmatic, but that’s mostly because he always sweats profusely (even when not wearing it!). He does have a full set and pulls them out for special occasions or if requested to do so.

Glad to hear some wear the dalmatics. I served my first time as a deacon this past weekend. I wore a purple dalmatic at three masses and a rose stole overe an alb at the forth. I don’t have a rose dalmatic.

Thanks Mark!🙂
LOL, that looked moronic, I clipped the wrong phrase. That should have been a response to “I served my first time as a deacon this past weekend” – but I guess you figured that out!
