I wrote a bad sentence. “Not that they are picking on Muslims - they should pick on them if their societies are displaying abhorrent behavior, as they do in our society.”

that sentence should have been, ‘Not that they are picking on Muslims - they should pick on them if their societies are displaying abhorrent behavior, as the MSM picks on pediphiles on our society.’

Are you saying Jesus didn’t tell us how we should behave?
:hug3:

No, I meant Muslims are following the teaching of Muhammed regarding marriage, while some Christians are doing what Jesus told them not to do regarding sins in general.

We cannot use this event to comment on the religion of Islam, or else we’re no better than those that use the sexual abuse scandal to comment on the Catholic Church.

This is a horrible, disgusting, incredibly evil action committed by a single person. Let us hope that God received the soul of the young girl, and let us hope that her killer will realize just how terrible his actions were, and repent fully to God and turn himself in.
Ummm…I think that the article said that islamic clerics in Yemen would consider anyone banning these kinds of marriages to be apostate. That’s not just one person.

I find it interesting that anti Islamic anti muslim msm reports are devoured on face value, and accepted as the complete truth, yet the msm reports of catholic church abuse is described variously as the work of satan to the msm not understanding the finer nunaces of catholic teaching and thereby getting the wrong end of the stick.

Hmm…
You are not kidding hmm…! Have you not read anger by Catholics over the abuse scandal in the abuse threads. It has been so loud and persistant the mods have limited the number of threads on the subject. Where have you been?

BTW…try reading post 16. LOL…it’s obvious you are not a girlonthestreet in an islamic country.

You are trying to tell us that we should accept it as ok behavior by telling us what you do because Muhammad did it
Im not a muslim nor do I adhere to any tenets of Islam.

You’ve conveniently missed my point.

I think the ones that are confused by your statements are us, not you. Try explaining. Why is it ok that we ignore what Muslims do just because they are Muslims? The excuse that the MSM is not treating them well is bunk and one that I have read from them quite often on different blogs and occasionally here too. They complain Islam is in a bad light because of the MSM, I say it is in a bad light just by their own texts and history including current history since the number of Jihadist attacks has not stopped and growing worldwide. If some didn’t commit crimes then there would be nothing to report. Some do and you are saying they should be treated differently than everyone else? If so, you are indeed following the tenets of Islam by saying they should not follow our laws, but their Sharia laws.

Please explain yourself more clearly if we misunderstand.

While the arguments about Islam abound and will continue to abound, let us pray for the repose of that poor girls soul.

If that is wise and insightful, then why is there a thread about "sexual abuse by Prostestant Ministers?
Hi Rev Kevin-
I believe the thread you are referring to is about the media singling out Catholic abusers. It is about media bias against the Catholic Church. Some posters missed the point and accused Catholics of excusing the current scandals because “everybody does it.”
