Respectfully, Church Militant, I don’t think the generalization about “n-Cs” is fair.

CThomas
That’s not a generalization…it pertains to the information given about the two individuals she’s been trying to share her faith with.

There are indeed some that one encounters who are just as I describe. I never imply that to mean all n-Cs.

Well, okay. I interpreted your parenthetical “if I know my n-Cs at all” to refer beyond the two individuals Renee was discussing to a more generalized characterization of Protestants. But I take you at your word that you didn’t mean that, so fair enough.

I totally agree about dropping the issue. How can someone not accept the Catholic Church as the Church Jesus started… It says it in the Bible, granted it doesn’t call it “Universal” but then again they do imply that witht he whole every nation idea. Maybe you could point out who wrote the bible. Or get them a CD I’ll try to find a link…

My mom said it taught her alot about the Bible’s history, although it does have a Catholic slant if you are interested…

I would put the burden of proof on them. If they refuse to read/listen to something you send, ask them for some proof that they are right. Just because they are denying that the Catholic Church is the one founded upon Christ and the apostles doesn’t give you any compelling reason to leave, does it? 😉

You might try having them listen to John Martignoni’s One Church lecture, (it’s about halfway down the list) and beg them to tell you where he’s wrong. 👍

Sorry about my last post - I was trying to quote from another answer and messed up.

I didn’t vote on the poll, because it’s really hard for me to answer that one without knowing anything else. I’m assuming that you have prayed for an answer to this, and I would listen to the Holy Spirt more than pay attention to poll results on here. If they will not listen to you, or give any thought to any materials you have shared with them, etc., I would perhaps think that it is not the right time for them to listen to you. As hard as it is to accept, sometimes people just aren’t ready to listen to reason and accept the truth. As much as we would like to, we are not always going to be the instrament that the HS uses to convert someone. It may well be someone elses job to do that. The most we can do is present information, explain, and live out lives the best way that we can. And of course, it’s not really our job to covert someone- it is the Holy Spirits.
