Since the server was down for a couple of days I ran across a website called Christianity.com-for those of you who are interested and would like to defend the Catholic faith I suggest the site.There are mainly fundamentalists on there who are so ignorant it is unbelievable and some Orthodox who are debating them,I’m not nearly as good at apologetics as some on here and i know you would do alot better than me debating these people.The Orthodox seem really close to our posistion but they seem to disagree with some things about Mary-they say we take them to far! And they say they are the true church,so anyone who feels frisky…Christianity.com

Be careful with your declarations. Fr Ambrose lurks the halls here and will rightfully take you to task for assuming that the Orthodox broke off from Catholicism. Off course, we know that Paul started all of the Greek churches, so naturally, the Greek Orthodox Patriarchates were established before the Episcopate of Peter in Rome. That being said, by proxy of chronology, Orthodoxy is the original Church of which Rome was an equal brother, but the Roman Bishop got an overinflated sense of importance and elevated himself improperly over the other Bishops. Therefore Rome, in its arrogance, broke off from the Orthodox commune, not vice versa.
