This isn’t accurate. Ontologically there is only one Church. The Catholic Church. This is the only Church with such authority. And, yes, the Church does have this authority. The Church is not a denomination.

(and yes, I understand that there are people that reject this fact, but that doesn’t change reality. Relativism is a heresy.)
As I already made clear, the RCC has the right and obligation to define CATHOLIC
Saddly for you, other Christian denoms do not buy-in to your ‘Authority’ to define Christian. In fact, many of them are too busy calling you a **Cult **along with several other terms the anti-thesis of Christian.

**Get over it, **
The RCC obviously owns the trademark for Catholic
But Christian is public domain, hence the dictionary definitions

Tony and all,

Greek was the international language at the time of Christ…and the Greek word for universal is the English derivative…Catholic.

I have been watching EWTN’s ‘Catholicism’…it is on tonight and right away captures our universal faith and spirit…all centering around the living Lord, Jesus Christ. It is a beautiful program…and they have repeat showings.

But if it ISN’T a form of baptism of desire, doesn’t it say that they are saved OUTSIDE of the Church? Seems a logical catch 22 to me.
i don’t see a contradiction. I leave it up to God’s mercy.

Another set of layers that I didn’t think about at first, how the definition of a christian is related to EENS and authority. It certainly is necessary to remember what the magisterium teaches on this subject. Thank you for the responses.

Peace,
Phil

Hmmm, RCC. Sounds like some sort of soda water. Never heard of it. However I do know Catholic Church.

And why would you say my authority? It’s not “OUR” authority, but Christ Authority give the the Apostles, passed on to the Bishops. Do you read scripture with a blackout marker?🤷

Technically LDS are not considered to have a valid baptism, and never will because of the Gnostic teachings and lack of belief in the Trinity as well as the Hypostatic Union of Christ.
