Could someone please define what natural law is in regards to abortion. What is the definition of natural law?

My understanding is that when a human egg and sperm unite, a human being starts its development. This is an example of the natural law at work and that Catholic teaching against abortion is based on this natural law.

Is this correct?

I think what you are describing is a litte more of a biological argument than a natural law one, although the two often overlap.

There are many natural law arguments against abortion. It’s a little too lengthy to get into in a post here. I am going to simply refer you to a book published by Ignatius Press called 50 Questions on the Natural Law, by Charles Rice.
