Can anyone point me to the verses in the bible that refer to the different degrees of glory in heaven?

If there are degrees of punishment indicated in scripture, (Matt 11:20-24), where are the degrees of glory indicated? I’m hoping that someone can help me with this.

First I’ve heard of it. I’d like an answer to that myself as this is
new to me 🙂

2Cor.12

1
] I must boast; there is nothing to be gained by it, but I will go on to visions and revelations of the Lord.
2] I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago was caught up to the **third heaven **-- whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows.
3] And I know that this man was caught up into Paradise – whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows –

Eph.4

10
] He who descended is he who also ascended far above all the** heaven**s, that he might fill all things.)

2Cor.5

1
] For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

Here are some good verses to consider.

Why is heaven plural?
What is the third heaven?

As mentioned in one of the links posted by Pentecost2005, the following Scripture passage seems to support that there are different degrees of glory in Heaven:

41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for star differs from star in glory. 42So is it with the resurrection of the dead. (1 Corinthians 15:41-42)

Thank you everyone! That is what I was looking for. A while ago I tried to search the catechism for support of this, but I was unable to find what I was looking for. Has anyone here found it?

How about the Gospel of Matthew chapter 5?

19
Therefore, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do so will be called least in the kingdom of heaven. But whoever obeys and teaches these commandments will be called greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

Do levels of greatness count as levels of glory?

-Jim

Jim,

<<Do levels of greatness count as levels of glory?>>

That sounds reasonable. I’m sure the great saints have greater degrees of glory than a person that did not focus on the Lord or live as selfless a life as they could have.
