It wasn’t kiddie porn; it was Little Miss Sunshine. Porn is created specifically to incite lust. There is no way Little Miss Sunshine was designed to incite lust. The striptease in question was not at all provocative and was actually an ironic moment in the movie designed to show just how crass and sexually exploitative beauty pageants for young girls actually are. It was done in a way that was purely sweet and completely hysterical.

This World Net Daily article is completely disengenuous. It doesn’t even list the name of the movie. It is only designed to get people angry without giving them all of the facts.

I’m shocked! What a waste of cyberspace.

Peace

Golly! I do hope that Kirk Cameron, star of the rabidly anti-Catholic trash film “Left Behind” wasn’t too offended, like I was at his movie.

That’s par for the course at World Net Daily.

So basically you are saying that striptease doesn’t incite lust?? How ridiculous is that.

Is World net Daily really any worse than CNN or Fox News? I hardly doubt so. Worldnetdaily was the first place I read an unbiased account of Terri Schiavo before she was killed.

As for the movie I can’t see how any sincere Catholic can approve that trash

"Underneath the zaniness, there’s an incredibly positive reinforcement of family and an affirmation of genuine values, especially in the ultimate pageant sequence, which underscores the superficiality and vulgarity of contemporary society, even though eyebrows may be raised at Olive’s onstage antics during the talent competition. Still, the real lesson is the importance of being true to oneself.

Each of the characters is a victim of life’s vicissitudes (for example, few go to Richard’s lectures, Frank’s profoundly unhappy, Dwayne is mad at the world), but by the time the film ends, they all come to better understandings of the blessings in their lives and learn that winning is not necessarily the recipe for happiness."

“But given the overwhelmingly positive context of the story in which these elements appear – with the transformative nature of the story, and several unexpected moments of grace – many more will enjoy the film than its restrictive rating would suggest. Several Catholic parents to whom we’ve spoken have opined that they would not even have a problem with their older teenagers seeing such a pro-family film.”

I’ve seen the movie, and I would concur with the USCCB on this one.
