Yes, I have a Pieta Prayer Book also–it was given to me by a wonderful woman who, when she found out I’d become Catholic, gave me a huge Catholic bible and a brown wool scapular in addition to the Pieta book.
My sister gave me her worn copy. I kept it in my purse-would read it before Mass-and it became even more worn.Had to tape it together. And now my daughter has it in her purse. Im sure we wil have some more taping to do before long I hope that when she sees the need for someone to have it she’ll pass it on as well!
i recently started using this neat, little, portable treasure. so many prayers you hear now are so neutered and full of mere self-affirmations. the pieta book balances god’s love and justice very well. my only concern is that, as the book mentions, the promises in the book should not lead one away from the sacrament of confession. rather, it should make clear our abundant NEED for confession.
I started saying the prayers to St Therese for the flowers and was so surprised to receive a rose in many ways each Friday.
I loved the prayer with the promises to St Briget of Sweden on page 4.I looked at the promises and thought if I can say these 365 days of the year then how many will be saved. But there was one promis that I didn’t think about and it was the 12th one. I was quite sad when I realised tht Iwould not have what others went through. I realised that Jesus would keep His promis so that was that.
From that day on I have never had a sevear temptation. I asked Jesus why I never had any bad ones and He told me to go back to the 12th promise. Well I realise the truth in saying prayers (novenas) when the Holy family ask us to.
I said that for two years and thought that if I could say it for that length of time then maybe the boys I worked with might come to God. At least 6 did and then shortly after that, they died. But becore he died one said, “Don’t worry about me Oli(me) I know where I’m going”. Oh doesn’t that bring tears to your heart to know that Jesus loved them that much as to take them when His time was right.
Praise to Jesus Christ Our Lord.:bowdown2: :extrahappy:
God bless
