I am in RCIA and our rite of welcome was supposed to be on the first sunday of advent but has now been moved to the Saturday Anticpated mass for the 3rd Sunday of Advent Due to the priest not being there on the First Sunday of advent. The problem is I Do not live at this area I am in school it is only Technical college in state with a dorm so this is not a college town and the parish is not affilated with the school. When Easter Vigil comes I will be recived into the church at my Home Church in my home town even though I did not do RCIA there, They said that was permissible, That said, I heard the Rite of welcome gives graces and I don’t want to miss out on those:( Please Help . I have contacted the RCIA Teacher a few mins ago , waiting to see what he says, but any ideas what I can/ should do . Please advise
Thank you , God Bless

Be patient, you will make it. There is no requirement that you must attend every RCIA class or you won’t be received. Now, if you are on your way to Easter Vigil and all your tires blow out, then I would claim that the devil is trying to keep you out of the Church but the class being pushed back is nothing to worry about.

The Rite of Welcoming is an optional rite. Missing it will not keep you from being received into the Church later. The situation would be different if you were not already baptized.

Thank you. I was just told via email by my RCIA Director to not worry I could go home for my christmas break and I would have my name called out and be included in the right.
God Bless you all and please pray for me
Thank you

Actually, the devil is trying to keep everyone out of church…

Best of luck to you! 🙂

Lol, I was going to say the same thing. For some reason, I am always a little more tired come Sunday morning and church events…

Can’t keep you from going to Jesus 🙂
