STOCKHOLM, Sweden - A punk-rock style, trendy tight fit and affordable price have made Cheap Monday jeans a hot commodity among young Swedes, but what has people talking is the brand’s ungodly logo: a skull with a cross turned upside down on its forehead.
The jeans’ makers say it’s more of a joke, but the logo’s designer said there’s a deeper message.
“It is an active statement against Christianity,” Bjorn Atldax told The Associated Press. “I’m not a Satanist myself, but I have a great dislike for organized religion.”

*** Someone ought to inform Mr. Atldax that the upside down cross and skull are not anti-Christian symbols per se… the upside down cross is actually a Catholic symbol and is usually mistaken as a Satanic one (Due to Protestant propaganda I assume). That symbol is actually the symbol of St. Peter who was crucified upside down. That symbol was recently used on one of Pope John Paul II’s chairs at some event (WYD?). No real Satanists recognize that symbol. The real symbol of Satanists is an upside down Crucifix. Also the skull is usually associated with Golgotha. Again you may see the skull and crossbones on the coffin of John Paul II. It symbolizes death. Mr. Atldax is obviously an ignorant man fighting against a religion he knows nothing about. Perhaps if someone knows how they could pass this information on to him.
In any case his intent is clear and the jeans are portrayed very satanically by combining those images together. He has taken good symbols and used them for evil intent, like how homosexual activists use the rainbow, a symbol of God’s convenant. So it would be good to protest against these jeans, or perhaps we can make our own with Mr. Adtlax’s caricature of him burning in hell… Probably won’t sell well in Sweden, but I’d buy one. :tiphat:
