Devotion to the Eucharist

As we have so many threads on devotion, I thought it only right that we should have one on the Blessed Sacrament.

Do you have a devotion to this most beautiful part of our faith? Do you spend time adoring Christ in the tabernacle?

Do you perhaps have any tips or encouragements on how to foster a greater love for Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament? I often find myself taken up with the thought of how wonderful God is that He would come bodily to humanity and stay with us.
 
I like to arrive at Mass about one half hour before it starts, to have time to pray beforehand.

Our parish has adoration of the Blessed Sacrament once a month, so I can sign up for one hour.

A nearby parish has 24/7 Perpetual Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, and on First Saturdays a dear friend picks me up and we go together.
 
There is an awesome book called “Visits to the Blessed Sacrament and the Blessed Virgin Mary” by St Alphonsus Liguori which gives specific prayers to say during your visits which I actually need to pull out from under the dust and start using again!

There is also a book called “Book of Devotion to the Heart of Jesus” by St Margaret Mary.

Both of these should greatly help anyone with Devotion to the Holy Eucharist.

Sadly this is a devotion I have slacked on and need to renew. Thanks for reminding me!
 
My church observes perpetual Adoration and I volunteered for 2 hrs. each week. It has been a blessing beyond measure.

I recently read a book, Jesus and the Jewish Roots of the Eucharist: Unlocking the Secrets of the Last Supper by Brant Pitre, and highly recommend it to anyone looking to understand how the Eucharist and Jesus’ words & actions tie into old testament scriptures. It is written in a way that’s very easy to read and follow and to understand, and I gained a whole new level of love for the Eucharist!

Thanks for contributing, everyone. Honestly, this devotion is what drew me, despite other objections, to want to come home to the Church. How amazing it is to have the all holy God right there, and even more so, to be able to be one with Him in communion! You guys are so very blessed.
