I am about to graduate from college, and am considering spending the next year volunteering. I would like to meet Christ in serving his people, as well as get a better understanding of social justice issues. I also would like to live in a supportive faith community.
However, as I talk to people who have volunteered, I keep hearing that many Catholic volunteer programs tend to be very liberal, and don’t hold true to the church’s teachings. This includes the people with whom my friends have lived in the communities.
Does anyone know of any devout Catholic volunteer programs that are known to offer a faith-nurturing community? I have looked at programs on the CNVS website and they all claim to be this!
Thanks!

I’d recommend that you investigate into the Fellowship of Catholic University Students. As a FOCUS missionary, you’ll be ministering to college students. When the the campus I attend had FOCUS missionaries, they also ministered to our parish, as well. They are quite traditional and touch many lives. Check out www.focusonline.org.
