It’s really going to happen! I’ve been waiting and praying, praying and waiting. My dear husband of (almost) 25 years is going to receive his First Eucharist on Sunday, May 29, the Feast of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ.

Thanks be to all living and those who have passed on who have prayed for him and us to have the fullness of the sacrament of marriage we were blessed with on our wedding day and to have a truly Catholic household!

An interesting bit is that he found out his ancestors were charter members of the parish we attend.

Mimi, I don’t know you, but congratulations to both you and your husband, how exciting for both of you. I will keep you in my prayers.

What a great day for that to happen!

Wow! Thanks to all who responded and prayed!

I didn’t cry (for joy) as much as I’d anticipated. It was great. I took photos, too. That chrism oil smells so good.

Our 18 yo also attended. Of 3, one son attends with us, the middle one has decided religion stuff isn’t important (but still lives at home), and the oldest has also left the church, but doesn’t live with us. I have hopes they will return to the fold.

The date was purposefully chosen, and will make the anniversary even easier to remember.

The Lord truly does answer prayer!

Hi Mimi!
Talk about stupid guys (me).
When at last I told my beloved wife that I wanted to return to the faith, she calmly replied, “That’s fine with me Honey, I’ve always been Catholic at heart.” The mysterious ways of the Almighty…

I rejoice with you and your family and will include the boys in my prayers if you will do the same for my three guys.

I sure will pray for you and the family. I think a lot of what has happened in my life is due to praying the rosary daily. I'd wanted to for years, and finally made the committment about 3 yrs ago.
Thanks and God bless!
