Diane Sawyer: Loose Cannon or Gutsy Maverick?

(This is tongue in cheek. I love Daine Sawyer and wish her a long, happy life with unhindered access to air conditioning and other luxurious comforts enjoyed by the pampered media elite.)

In keeping with the highest of journalistic standards recently set by ABC in their hard-hitting expose on “pope” “Joan”, I intend to write a story of my own on their prized reporter, Diane Sawyer! This scientific and impartial poll will provide the bulk of my research.

Just like ABC news, I will:

A) Propose a baseless accusation based on venomous innuendo.

B) Rely solely on sources who will uphold that accusation.

C) Imply anyone who disagrees with my accusation is gullible, a backward bigot, or combinations of both to various degrees.

D) Raise one eyebrow at the end and use one of several stock journalist phrases: “Is it true? We may never know.” “Is it a myth? Or is there some truth to the story?” “Could it be that there is more (pregnant pause for teleprompter to scroll) than meets the eye?” etc…

So please vote in the poll. In keeping with the rules of Relativism, whichever response gets the highest percentage is true!

(Second Disclaimer: No, I am not a Relativist. Diane Sawyer is very likely … literate after all)

C’mon guys! In the late 19th century when “compassionate” scientists promoting eugenics released a theory saying that people from southern and eastern parts of Europe (read: Catholic) were intellectually inferior sheep who are less capable of independent thought, Evangelicals and Klansmen enthusiastically promoted the tale of Pope Joan as mocking “proof”.

A century later Sawyer resurrects the tale with no new evidence at all to back her claim. She can barely make eye contact with the camera through her eye holes as she mercilessly rips into the Church just so she can make a buck promoting a trash novel?

The Church never sues. She had nothing to lose.

If John Stewart can make fun of her just for being telejournalist on page 163 of America (The Book), then we can certainly taunt her and the other torch-bearing peasants from the parapet.

As a reporter, she has a duty to present the news (not innuendo) without being caught up in a personal agenda. If she can do a “balanced” story on baby killing, then it should be no problem in blowing a few holes in a fairy tale.

What if she did a story saying the American Revolution never happened? That Tibet is actually a free and independent nation? That Nero was just a misunderstood cat person?

At some point, books have to be closed and society has to move on. That is one of the great functions of dogmatic proclamations. A wizzard should know better!!

At least you can have a laugh.

I don’t mind the poll really. I just couldn’t find exactly how I feel about this semi reporter. I used to like her, before I really paid attention too well. Then I saw her interview Mel Gibson after I saw The Passion of the Christ or right around that time. I hated her interview. I also saw her interview a few others and she did terrible. Wrose than terrible, downright nasty. She does it in her sweet sort of demeanor.

I promise you I am laughing at Diane and the rest of the MSM too. They aim to put down Catholics, Christianity, and our country. I will go back and pick a nasty choice in your poll, for Diane does not deserve any respect here.
 
I had to vote the Mouth of Sauron. After all, if she is going to speak for the devil on national TV, she should suck it up and be proud to bear the title. 😛
 
You have to know something is wrong when the homosexual (GLAAD)community gave her an award for journalism in 2003.

I too have to pass on this poll.
Diane Sawyer’s sister Linda used to be my boss.
I’ve met Diane Sawyer, she used to drop in to see her sister frequently, and she is really a sweet and gracious person. It’s kind of sad that she lets herself get involved with nonsense like the story of Pope Joan.
