As Pope Benedict noted, the moral relativists are dogmatists about their relativism, and this article demonstrates the absolutism of moral relativism taking over our college campuses.

Yes it is true. At some campuses everyone is required to take an online course in sexual harassment. This course preaches moral relativism and demands non-judgmental attitudes or else you don’t pass the course. If you don’t agree with the answers demanded you are not allowed to take any courses, as the administration puts a hold on all your courses until you complete the course by giving the “right” answers. The people in charge of these sexual harassment courses are certainly dictators and are quire ruthless as they will prevent you from graduating unless you agree with their moral relativism.

The article describes students’ reluctance to engage in discussion or critical thinking about moral issues. They either shut down (ignoring the question) or look around to see what the politically correct understanding is. Either way, they are missing out on opportunities to educate and grow their consciences. Sad, as it may lead them to make poor choices in their lives. Also worrisome, as they will be unprepared to examine new moral questions that will arise.

You appear to have this completely the wrong way around, Charles.

The professor is keen on opening discussion up to indicate to the students that there is often more than one viewpoint. Depending, of course, on the situation and the persons beliefs. That is, that there are a multitude of moral positions for any given situation as opposed to what he actually complaining about – political correctness, which encourages one single viewpoint.
