In my city, the pro-life walk is held every other year.

The last time I attended sadly was 30 years ago. My son was10 years old. I went on Saturday and I am
glad I did. Abby Johnson was one of the speakers.
Our Bishop Olmsted and our governor were also there.

It was announced Planned Parenthood has promised
$45 million to the democrat candidates this year.

Anyone want to share anything about the pro-life event
you attended this weekend?

I think ours is next weekend. I saw a banner at the cathedral.

The parishes around here are mostly sending buses to the March for Life on Friday.

I went last year on the closest parish bus, went to the Mass, heard some of the rally and did the full March. It was a good experience to have, but if I were to do it again sometime I think I would prefer to be on my own schedule and not dependent on the bus. Hours of bus down and hours of bus back with a long crowded march full of young people and noise in between, and more noise on the bus going back because some other adults like to talk (brag) loudly for the whole 3 hour bus ride, makes for a very long day.

If there is something local this coming Friday maybe I will go to that, otherwise I’ll just quietly pray in an Adoration chapel or at home. That’s more my speed, and quieter.

Edited to add, I see there’s a noon Rosary Rally outside a Planned Parenthood a couple towns over this Friday. Might be able to get there. We’ll see.

I’m with you there. I’m not much on praying on street corners. Seems like the gospels warn against that sort of thing.

I am okay with praying on the street corner from time to time, I will sometimes go say a group rosary outside PP with the church group. But March for Life is more along the lines of a huge street festival. It’s so crowded that logistically it’s hard to get around, and a huge percentage of attendees are Catholic high school and college kids, and kids will be kids. They get rowdy and in many (not all) cases are not very well chaperoned.

When I go to that kind of event, it’s like going to a ginormous rock festival. I like to have a hotel room within easy shouting distance so I can just go collapse in a quiet room when I escape the crowd.

Ours was a pretty well behaved crowd. There were a few food trucks there and several tabes with pro-life
material and pregnancy centers that help mothers with
classes, baby clothes and baby furniture. I am going to start volunteering at 2 of them.

There were maybe a couple of thousand, but I did not see large groups of teenagers. There were mostly church groups and families.

There are no pro life marches in my area. I wouldn’t want to take a bus to D.C. or be in that big a crowd. I sometimes watch it on EWTN but they start to repeat themselves after a while, though I appreciate their coverage and appreciate that people are dedicated enough to the cause to make the trip to D.C. , but I prefer going to the local abortion clinics to pray.

I pray at the local abortion clinics too, especially during
40 days for life. Praying at the clinics is also very important.
