Did Christ Stumble?

Is there any Biblical evidence for our Tradition of Christ Stumbling 3 times on the way to Calvary?

Let’s think about this for a minute. . . Jesus is up all night praying in the Garden, is taken to the High Priest’s house (his father-in-laws as well), where He is beaten. Herod’s then to Pilate, who has Him flogged, not to mention the mocking by the soliders. No food or rest etc. Does anyone know how heavy the crosspiece for the cross was?

I think that under the circumstances to say that He didn’t fall shows some problems for sola scriptura.

I don’t think anyone is claiming he didnt’ fall, but more that we cannot be so specific without the use of what we have learned through tradition.

In John’s Gospel 21:25…John says, “There are man other things that Jesus did, yet if they were written in ***detail, ***I doubt there would be room enough in the entire world to hold the books to record them.”

You add all this to the fact that Romans made someone carry Christ cross. In Mathew 27:31- it says "they stripped him of the robe, and put his own clothes on him and led him away to crucify him. As they were marching they came upon a man of cyrene, Simon by name’ this man they compelled to carry his cross…"

To me it all sounds very happenstance. I would think that someone would have already been designated to carry cross ahead of time. The passage makes it sound like some problem developed along the way that made it necessary for the Romans to pick on some traveler to carry the cross. What problem would that be?
