Hello,
I was reading through the tracts at Catholic Answers (which I absolutely LOVE) and came across an article on Islam. One of the contentions that you used to show that Allah is a false god (which I agree with) is that Muslims believe that Allah created both physical and moral evil. This got me to question who or what created evil?
The Jewish understanding (Judaism is part of my background) understands that God created evil, and without evil there can be no true free will.
Also, how do we interpret these verses:
“See, I [God] have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil.” (Deuteronomy 30:15)
“I form the light, and create darkness; I make peace, and create evil; I the Lord do all these things.” (Isaiah 45:7)
Thank you,
David N.
