On my way to mass I drank some coffee at 9:56 am. when It was time to take communion it was 10:55 am. About 20 seconds after I took communion it turned to 10:56. I was a bit uneasy and felt I should have gotten out of line and waited but I figured I was being too legalistic and I did not wish to look odd in front of my friends who were visiting my parish. I believe I have committed a grave sin. I have been told it was only venial and I am being too scrupulous. Can you help me discern the gravity of this sin.
