You can speak to a priest but it doesn’t sound like gossip which is defined as involving details not confirmed as true. Sounds like you were just confirming information in a non malicious and probably uncomfortable way. Be at ease and bring it up at your next confession. Remember God sees your heart at all times, even now as it is hurting thinking you may have offended Him.
