Did I do a good job today?

I am relatively a very ignorant catholic. I don’t know if I did a good job today since it’s good Friday. I worked in the morning, I am fasting and prayed the stations of the cross. I spent time on the phone but I am afraid I am falling into being scrupulous and wondering if that was okay.

I also spent few hours living this day as a “normal” day but wonder if that is what I am supposed to live it.

Any advice?

There is no requirement to abstain from every day things such as talking on the phone or doing work. Not everyone can take the day off. Yes, that leans towards scrupulosity. You did just fine.

You did nothing wrong. The Church doesn’t require us to abstain from the telephone or from anything else besides meat, and also to fast. We have work/school obligations that the Church doesn’t require us to not fulfill on Good Friday.
