I just met a dear friend who no longer lives the christian faith because he felt that it was an organized religion filled with fallible men. He felt judged and condemned in the past and i told him that Christ renders to every men according to his works, and that he (my friend) will be rewarded because in the process of marrying a single mum, he adopted a girl and been sharing his resources ever since to feed,clothe and educate her. He was very shocked and delighted for feeling less condemned in comparison to his protestant tradition.
Just today i felt more fearful of what i said is in line with the church’s teaching on salvation on those outside the church… because he knows Christ is God, but he rejected the faith. I was trying to usher him into the love and mercy of Christ through the Catholic church.
