Did I sin by skipping a week-day Mass?

I went to confession this morning and that was about one hour before a weekday mass. I didn’t attend the mass because I could not get a ride home after the Mass and I didn’t want to walk and some other reasons. However a part of me feels a bit guilty but I know that the Church does not order us to go to Mass daily. So am I just being scrupulous about the matter or did I do something wrong?

Dear Cath,

While nothing we can possibly do during the day can equal the value of Mass, we are not obliged to attend on weekdays. And there are legitimate reasons for not being able to attend. In any case, you did not sin by not attending a week-day Mass.
