How about depriving doctors of paying patients by healing them or professional mourners and funerary professionals their livelihood by raising the dead? Obviously, the question is a ridiculous one aimed squarely at debunking Christ’s miracles and his mission. Atheists don’t really care about depriving herders of their living. C’mon, we all know what they’re really doing.

You are right in most cases. Sometimes children will come up with questions like that and it is good to have a reasonable answer.

I need an answer that I can give a child. Children live in a “it’s not fair world”. Which is all right for children but I do get a little sick of hearing it from adults.

Sometimes an answer you can give a child will also work for an adult if the adult is not actually trying to pick a fight.

This is true. I maintain that adults who ask such questions are not being childlike, but childish in assuming to know better than God. It seems to me that an adult who asks such a question has a grudge against God. It’s not a well thought out question, but one of those “any stick handy” kind, in which the person whines about nonexistent issues merely to be a “dog in the manger.”
