In the creed it says that he rose again on the third day, the word again is somewhat confusing as it seems to imply he rose one time and then another time. Could you please explain why this word is in the creed?
The word again is used in the creed in the same sense as one might say “He fell down but got up again.” It is not meant to imply that Jesus rose from the dead more than once.
