Does this mean that it is permissible to divorce a spouse if they have been unchaste? What does “unchaste” mean in this circumstance? How is this passage reconciled with the Church’s teaching that there can be no divorce if the marriage was sacramental?But I say to you that every one who divorces his wife, except on the ground of unchastity, makes her an adulteress; and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery (Matt. 5:32).
