Did Jesus Say He Would Not Turn Away Anyone?

Doesn’t the Church say that a thought is as good as a deed? Even thinking about adultery is adultery, for example.
Yes, but in this case he was still in a position to reverse what he had been thinking.

Irrelevant, in any case. The Church’s position is that people with unforgiven mortal sins may not receive Holy Communion. That included divorced people now civilly remarried and a number of other categories. THAT is the only thing that matters.

And when it comes to things that might be known (like being divorced) which one of us can say we go to the altar free of sin?
My friend either you are a misinformed or uniformed Catholic; or a Christian lacking a full understanding of Catholics practices and beliefs.

Catholic Holy Communion is a mirror-image refection what God demands for Souls desiring to gain access to Heaven: **Matt.5: 48 “**You, therefore, must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.” I SAY a mirror image because we don’t quite attain the level of perfection; but we come reasonably close: 1Pet.1:15-16 “but as he who called you is holy, be holy yourselves in all your conduct; since it is written, "You shall be holy, for I am holy.”

The conditions for receiving Catholic Holy worthily are two:
  1. One is too FAST for at least one hour before receiving
  2. One must not be in unconfessed / unforgiven Mortal sins [
    1 John: 5:16-17 & John 20:19-23
Then the Church steps in and grants forgiveness for ALL of our “lesser: “Venial” sins John 1: 1 -8-9 & 1 John 5: 16-17;at EACh & EVERY Mass in a public [but not individual Confession where all seek GOD’S forgiveness and which God gladly agrees to do.

And when it comes to things that might be known (like being divorced) which one of us can say we go to the altar free of sin?

SO MY FRIEND; EACH AND MEMBER OF THE CONGREGAGTION WHO MEETS THE DEMANDS OF FAST AND NO MORTAL SINS; CAN AND DOES, BEING WITHOUT ANY-SIN; RECEIVE OUR DEAR JESUS WORTHILY. THE BETTER OUR UNDERSTANDING OF THE REAL PRESENCE AND FIRMER OUR BELIEF; THE GREATER THE AMOUNTS OF GRACE THAT ARE OFFERED AND RECEIVED.

As to those presumptuous enough to even present themselves as worthily despite living in Mortal Sin [despite the erroneous attacks on Christ Truths;] Paul has a Teaching:

1Cor.11 Verses 23 to 30

[23] For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread, [24] and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, “This is my body which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” [25] In the same way also the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.” [26] For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.

[27] Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of profaning the body and blood of the Lord

[28] Let a man examine himself, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup.

[29] For anyone who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment upon himself

[30] That is why many of you are weak and ill, and some have died

This last part is saying those who choose to receive unworthily are self-judging themselves as being worthy of choosing HELL for Eternity.

So my friend your cavalier thoughts are suggesting these folks choose Hell for eternity. Is THAT really the advice you choose to share?

May God guide your path,
Patrick [PJM]
