There have been years of discussion following OF introduction and then gradual return of EF, etc. After going to OF - I once attended a lecture by EF faction group priest (from group in Coeur D’Elene, Idaho). IF I remember correctly, there was discussion raised about the changes (language in Consecration being most serious of considerations). When he was asked about Sr. Lucia praying daily before the Blessed Sacrament after OF was introduced, he said even saints make mistakes (roughly quoted).

What’s the answer? Did Sr. Lucia attend new Mass (i.e. OF) - which would be in Portugese (her vernacular) versus Latin or English? Despite the return of EF, have all our questions / fears / arguments over new Mass versus old condemned us? If we are supposed to obey the Pope, then, what are Traditionalists guilty of - until the EF was “reintroduced”? After years of discussion, has anyone reached this point, despite the reintroduction of EF?

Quite probably there was no choice as was the case here in the US for many years.

I’m not saying there were mistakes in Sr. Lucia’s life (that was rough quote - very close to exact though - by lecture I’d heard at the time). But - after all the debates over New versus Old Mass - which was the way to go? If New Mass was okay, then why did we strive for return to Old? Were we in disobedience to Popes and put ourselves / souls in trouble? (not sure if I’m wording this question rightly), and I know EF was in perpetuity - but newer Popes changed style to OF.

Yes.

When I was on a Fatima pilgrimage to Portugal, we also made a bus trip one day to Tuy, Spain where Sr. Lucia was living in a convent. While there, we had an OF Mass celebrated for us pilgrims by one of the priests leading the pilgrimage, and were told that Sr. Lucia was attending the Mass unseen by us on the other side of the wall, to maintain her privacy as a cloistered nun. This was back in 1980. This particular Mass was in English.

:blessyou:
