Did St. Anthony go to mass?

I was reading about St. Anthony, the father of monasticism and it is written in the Catholic Encyclopedia that “he found an old fort into which he shut himself, and lived there for twenty years without seeing the face of man” If this is true, he couldn’t possibly have gone to mass or participated in any of the sacraments…isn’t this a bad thing?!
 
two things: did he need to get outside food? that would day there was probably tiems where he would have left the fort, or Was he a priest? cuz then he wouldnt need to leave to partake, would he?
 
Apparently he did not need to, HE’S A PRIEST!
probably he just asked for a host and a chalice.
