Did St. Edith Stein really say this?

Could you help me with a quote I heard that was attributed to St. Edith Stein? She was asked, “Why did Satan tempt the woman rather than the man?” and is said to have answered, “Because he knew she would pass it on to her children.”

I am unaware of such a statement by St. Edith Stein and would want to see the source and the context of the quote before I attributed it to her. Basic Christian teaching is that original sin comes to us through Adam and that is why Christ became the New Adam.

For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive. But each in his own order: Christ the first fruits, then at his coming those who belong to Christ (1 Cor. 15:21-23).
